"Its such a rewarding feeling to know that I can have a positive impact on a young persons life just by spending a few hours a month with them" ~ One of our volunteers
Watching a film Just hanging out and talking can make a huge difference for a young person. The activities don't have to cost a lot and we will cover any expenses incurred. It's not about spending money; it's about spending time, giving guidance and support, and caring.
JUMP volunteers are regular people just like you. You don't have to have any qualifications or experience as full accredited training will be given. All we ask is that you have an open mind, a sympathetic ear and can relate well to young people.
A mentor can open a world of possibilities for a young person simply by being there. JUMP is simple and rewarding. It is easy to show your young person how to play a few games, have a laugh, play some sports or just chill out together.
Being someone special to a young person takes little more than that, but will have a profound effect on both of you! JUMP is flexible and will fit into your schedule so that you can do as many or few hours as you like.
Young people need the motivation, support and guidance from someone like you!
Volunteering just four hours a month can change a young person's life.
If you want to have a positive effect on the people in your community, we want to hear from you. In return for your commitment, we'll give you training that can lead to an accredited qualification, official recognition, a chance to explore new skills, gain experience and meet new people.
