JUMP Needs YOU!
JUMP is a voluntary organization and we have no source of income other than donations and grants we have managed to obtain. Support from individuals like you is vital to provide mentors for young people in your community and for JUMP to be able to continue.
It isn't easy being a young person these days. In these complex and confusing times, young people need a caring person such as a mentor, someone they can talk to, have fun with, obtain advice, guidance and support, help build there self esteem back up and give them a feeling of belonging.
Research shows that Youth Mentoring really does work and helps to change the lives of young people. British surveys repeatedly report that those who have experienced working with a mentor find the experience positive and professional and value the support that they received.
JUMP is a local initiative in the Waveney area based on the sound principles of successful mentoring. We believe that mentoring can have a positive effect on young peoples lives which in turn will reduce there chances of becoming angry, desperate, alienated and disengaged with there communities and society generally. Because there is evidence that high risk behaviors are more likely to be responsive to the scheme, there is good reason to suppose that it will have a positive impact not just on young people experiencing problems but on levels of crime and disorder that flow from low self esteem and social exclusion among the younger members of society.

But we cannot achieve this without your help.
Donating will help to:
- Recruit and train new mentors
- Cover the cost of background checks and insurance, while ensuring trained professionals match young people to trained and responsible young mentors.
- Offer one-on-one ongoing supervision and support for every young person and mentor.
- Provide activities and equipment for the mentors and mentees.
Your donation goes to your community. When you donate to JUMP, you are directly supporting young people in your community. No matter how much you give, donating will improve the lives of young people therefore improving the community as a whole by reducing the level of youth offending and anti-social behaviour and young homless people in the area. Your donation will help them meet the challenges of growing up into happy, confident young adults.
